Hi Reader,
If you want to lower your risk of cancer, infections, brain decline, and chronic disease, there is one system you must protect above all others:
Your immune system.
Most people don’t realize this until it’s too late.
When white blood cells (WBC) are low, vulnerability begins long before symptoms appear. This is when disease starts quietly — not suddenly.
You are not “healthy one day and sick the next.”
The body has been signaling for years — you just weren’t testing or paying attention early enough.
Here’s the deeper problem:
Doctors measure immune markers every year, but they rarely interpret them.
Every standard blood test includes a CBC and white blood cell count.
Those numbers are not “routine.” They are early warning signals.
Though looking at numbers without context creates more confusion than clarity.
We don't chase green and freak out when we see red on our lab tests. Our biochemistry is a lot more nuanced than that, and therefore, you not only need the right tests, but you also need the right practitioner to interpret these tests!
White blood cells are responsible for identifying viruses, destroying damaged and cancerous cells, and coordinating repair and recovery.
And yet most people are told:
Here’s the cost of missing this.
When the gut is inflamed, and mitochondria are damaged from our lifestyle habits or certain medications, immune cells lose energy and killing power.
- viruses linger
- abnormal cells survive
- inflammation becomes chronic
- disease develops quietly
By the time symptoms appear, immune exhaustion has often been present for years.
So let's go back to the beginning.
What damages immune cells?
Inflammation.
And the right question is:
What is causing the inflammation?
This is why I keep repeating myself over and over! The right testing and the right interpretation are non negotiable, If you want to lower the risk of any disease.
Here is the basic, science-based list of things that cause inflammation:
- environmental toxins
- heavy metals
- mold and mycotoxins
- unresolved viral infections (including long COVID) and shots
- poor sleep quality
- sedentary lifestyle
- chronic stress
- certain medications
- inadequate nutrition
And the great news: We have tests for all of these!
Chronic inflammation is not a moment — it is ongoing internal flames.
Those flames constantly demand immune attention. Immune cells become exhausted. Inflammation damages mitochondria, the energy factories that immune cells depend on to function.
No energy → no defense.
This is why my book and my work are built on two systems that control everything:
the gut and the mitochondria.
I call them the M&M Dream Team — because when they fail, everything fails.
None of this is opinion.
This is biology.
Cancer, autoimmune disease, and neurological decline don’t start suddenly. They begin years — often decades — before diagnosis, when immune surveillance quietly fails.
If your goal is to stay healthy, independent, and alive as long as possible, this matters!
Not doing the right testing does not keep you safe.
It only delays action while damage continues silently.
When you support the gut and mitochondria, immune cells regain energy, and resilience returns.
Before next week’s email, where I’ll go deeper into testing and how to support immune health through lifestyle and supplements, here is one simple thing you can do today:
One Simple Shift
Multiple randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses show that specific probiotics, like Bifidobacterium lactis HN019, significantly increase NK-cell (natural killer cell) activity, a key arm of immune defense.

I only use and recommend products that are third-party tested for purity and efficacy.
Important note:
Make sure you eat at least 5 cups of plant foods daily, or take fiber supplements. Probiotics need fiber to survive — without it, you won’t get the benefit. Start slow and steady!!!
